How the Sunday Broadcast System Works
The automated broadcast server system commenced operation in 2005 and was relocated to a new site in 2011. The PC was upgraded to a 12v computer with a 3GHz motherboard and 12v battery operation was introduced.
The system is designed to play the WIA National News from VK1WIA and the VK5 Local News at 9.00am each Sunday. The audio is relayed to the prime Adelaide VHF repeater VK5RAD without human intervention.
The system consists of:
- Philips FM828 radio
- Radio to PC interface
- Yagi antenna
- Software was written by Steve (VK5ASF)
