John was a member of the North East Radio Club and was a long serving Amateur Radio Operator.
Unfortunately he suffered with Parkinson’s and spent his final years in a nursing home at Ingle Farm. He was a keen amateur and had his radios setup at the nursing home you would hear him frequently coming up on the liked repeaters.
Thanks to Tony VK5FBIC he was able to attend one of our Saturday afternoon meetings late last year, he arrived in style in and access cab. I spoke to John and he was over the moon to catch up with old faces.
